More than 83 million people call Ethiopia home, yet almost 60 percent do not have access to safe water. They have no choice but to use dirty water from rivers and ponds for drinking, cooking, and bathing. When children drink this water, they become sick and even die. Lack of clean water, sanitation, and hygiene is directly related to Ethiopia's high rate of child mortality. The country also has Africa's highest rate of trachoma – a blinding eye infection easily prevented by washing the face and eyes with clean water. Add Water. Change Everything.
